BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., November 11, 2009 — Alan T. Ackerman, managing partner of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Ackerman Ackerman & Dynkowski, has been recognized as one of the top eminent domain attorneys in metropolitan Detroit for 2010 by dbusiness magazine.
The dbusiness magazine Top Lawyers list recognizes attorneys practicing in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties who possess the highest professional ability and ethical standards. The designation is achieved through peer voting, which is based on the annual Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings listing.
A condemnation and eminent domain attorney, Mr. Ackerman exclusively represents landowners in valuation, just compensation, and total and partial takings proceedings. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University in 1968 and his Masters degree from Michigan State University in 1971. Ackerman received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1972.
A published author and frequent speaker, Mr. Ackerman is the past Chair of the Michigan Real Property Section Condemnation Law Committee, American Bar Association Real Property Section Condemnation Committee. He has been an adjunct professor teaching eminent domain law at the University of Detroit Law School since 1983, and now serves as an adjunct professor at Michigan State University College of Law.
