Dan Stepanian-Bennett

Account Director, Digital

In his role at Identity as Account Director, Digital, Dan Stepanian-Bennett brings over 17 years of industry experience, including more than 14 years in various digital & social media roles. He provides senior counsel on strategic campaign direction, analytics and insight development, and channel and messaging approach, along with content ideation across a portfolio of B2C & B2B clients.

With a background in creative strategy, Dan developed a mantra around combining the art of storytelling with the science of human behavior. Dan has a passion for data-driven branded activations and reciting corny dad jokes. It’s no surprise that he derives such excitement from delivering award-winning campaigns while mentoring team members (which explains why many former colleagues can still recall a list of “Dan-isms” he’s coined over the years).

Dan fully embraces BHAG (Big, Hairy, Audacious Goals), having planned strategies and executed social media campaigns for many flagship brands including Porsche, PepsiCo (Tropicana & Naked Smoothies), AutoZone, Lavazza Coffee, Diageo Wines, and Marco’s Pizza. Prior to his time in Chicago, Dan spent over a decade in Washington, DC working with various governmental agencies and non-profit organizations including US Army, FDA, and Department of Homeland Security – along with The Nature Conservancy, National Education Association, National Milk Producers Federation, and the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity.

Dan is also active with Oakland University’s Center for Civic Engagement, along with volunteering with the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation of Greater Chicago and the Dads Club of St Benedict’s Parish. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University with a major in Business Marketing, and minors in Political Science, Pre-Law, and American Sign Language.

Outside of Identity, Dan is a self-described “hot dog connoisseur” that enjoys grilling and spending time with family, especially biking along Chicago’s lakeshore trail with his 3-year-old intern daughter Ella. He also enjoys woodworking, baking sourdough bread & crackers, singing karaoke, and traditional Armenian dancing.
