Advertising, Then and Now

I stumbled upon this site today, and I found it very interesting. The 50 greatest vintage advertisements, as rated by a blogger. What’s interesting to me is to see what has changed, and what has remained the same. The most effective ads still capture the reader with a compelling image, and downplay the text. (Nobody likes to read!!!) Today, though, there is even LESS copy than what was deemed necessary yesteryear.
