Beverly Cornell, director of marketing for Mango, made the announcement.

Through Ontario’s extensive public library system, Mango Languages is now available to 70 percent of the province’s population of 13 million. Among the 41 libraries in which Mango Languages can now be accessed are the Ottawa Public Library, Windsor Public Library and Niagara Falls Public Library.

Currently offering nearly 50 self-study language courses, the lessons are presented with an appreciation for cultural nuance and real-world application that goes beyond teaching vocabulary and pronunciation to integrate components of grammar and culture. The Mango methodology teaches actual conversation, breaking down complex conversational elements with a highly interactive interface that enables the user to build important connections between previous lessons.

That growth will continue throughout 2011, as the company plans to enrich content and introduce several new products, languages and features, each of which will target a specific user profile to meet that user’s specific language needs – the ultimate goal being to learn a language.

Mango’s Newest Product Appeals to International Travelers Who Want to “Talk the Talk” While They’re Walking the Walk

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., November 29, 2010 — Mango Languages today unveiled Mango Passport®, its latest language learning product designed specifically for people who enjoy international travel and want to be able to effectively communicate in the country’s native language. Beverly Cornell, director of marketing for Mango, made the announcement.

Created to provide the conversation skills that a traveler needs to successfully communicate and engage with the local population, Mango Passport® also assists the user in gaining an understanding of the new language and culture.

Mango Passport® is designed specifically for use from an individual’s home or office computer or laptop. It differs from other at-home language learning software programs because it goes beyond teaching grammar, vocabulary and conjugation and also provides engaging content, intuitive interactive tools and a comprehensive learning methodology. Users not only learn individual words and phrases but also how to use them in real-life situations. These types of fundamental conversation skills greatly improve a traveler’s ability to navigate an unfamiliar area and interact with the local population, thereby enhancing the entire travel experience.

Commenting on the launch of Mango Passport®, Chief Executive Officer Jason Teshuba said, “The segment of the population that enjoys travel continues to grow, and much of that travel takes place internationally. In fact, last year, United States residents made more than 61.5 million trips outside of the country. Mango Passport® is designed to serve that market. This product gives those international travelers the opportunity to learn a language from the comfort of their own home or office. Mango’s lessons are written and developed by native-speaking teachers who understand the nuances of the language, as well as the culture. Also, since Mango focuses on conversational speaking skills, users will start speaking after just one lesson and will be able to deal with everyday situations — get directions, order a meal, make new friends — after spending only a few hours with the program.”

Mango Passport® is currently available in 17 languages, including French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Turkish, Farsi, Hindi, Hebrew, English as a Second Language, Russian, Korean, German, Vietnamese, Brazilian Portuguese and Greek. Additional languages will be added in the coming months. Mango Passport® will be available in 29 languages by the end of 2010.

The downloadable Mango Passport® course features 10 chapters and is available for $150 per language. Mango Passport® On The Go! (MP3 audio version with PDF companion guide) is available for $100. The Mango Passport® Bundle, which features all the fun of Mango Passport® plus the convenient audio version of Mango Passport® On The Go!, is available for a discounted price of $200.

Specific languages can be purchased from the main website, but Mango also offers a gift certificate option for the holidays. The certificate enables recipients to choose any language and is available at http://www.mangolanguages.com/store/gift.

A complete list of languages and more program details can be found on Mango’s website at http://www.mangolanguages.com.

Enhancements Include New Features and Additional Languages

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., September 23, 2010 — Mango Languages today announced the official launch of its newest product, “Mango Complete v 2.0″. The latest installment of what will be a series of several additions to the Mango suite of products in the coming months, Mango Complete v 2.0 builds on the success of the original version by adding several features including new visual images, enhanced interface and voice comparison technologies. The announcement was made by Beverly Cornell, director of marketing for Mango.

Mango Complete v 2.0 will also add a number of languages to the original set. The new courses will bring the total number of languages in the Mango library to 70 by year’s end. The most popular languages currently are Spanish, French, German, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.

The courses are presented with an appreciation for cultural nuance and real-world application that goes beyond teaching vocabulary to integrate components of grammar and culture. The Mango learning model teaches actual conversation, breaking down complex conversational elements with a flexible audio-visual framework that enables the user to draw important connections between pieces of information they have already learned.

Commenting on the launch of Mango Complete v 2.0 program, Cornell said, “We view the launch of Mango Complete v 2.0 as the next step in our mission to remain a leader in our industry. By keeping the elements that made our original program successful and adding new features and languages that were born from the comments and suggestions of our users, we have been able to build a product that sets a new standard and meets the growing needs of our users.”

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., August 3, 2010 — Mango Languages today announced that it has expanded the audience for its award-winning foreign language learning programs with its entry into the education market. The announcement was made by Beverly Cornell, director of marketing for Mango.

Offered online and easy to use, Mango is a Web-based learning system that teaches practical conversation skills. Its courses build critical thinking and communication skills and provide real life language interactions that students can start using immediately. By focusing on the key language components of vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and culture, the software increases both comprehension and retention of the language. Mango’s curriculum covers 37 languages including Spanish, Mandarin, French, German and ESL Spanish. Additional languages will be added in the coming months.

The Mango program is now available for use in educational institutions of all types, including public, private and charter elementary, middle and high schools, occupational and trade schools and colleges and universities across North America.

Teachers will benefit from the variety Mango adds to the classroom. Because the lessons are based on real life conversations and incorporate cultural components, they are a perfect supplement to traditional course materials. Its Web-based format makes it easy for teachers to download a variety of resources and also utilize automated pre and post-tests, chapter level assessments and related reports that allow effective tracking of a student’s progress.

The virtual classroom, which can be used in the physical classroom as well, allows students to access courses from anywhere at any time. As a result, they can go through each lesson at their own speed, using the tools that are most valuable to them, and tracking their progress as they go.

Commenting on the company’s decision to enter the education market, Cornell said, “As Mango Languages looks to continue to grow and attract new users, we identified the education market as the next logical step. The word education is synonymous with learning and many now realize that being fluent in multiple languages is becoming increasingly important to their own success, in school and in the working world. By leveraging the tremendous success we have achieved in the public library space, we knew that we could tailor our product to provide teachers and students with a learning tool that is effective, fun and easy-to-use.”

Each Mango language course is available for purchase, and fees are based on full time enrollment, allowing a school to customize its purchase to its specific language needs and student enrollment. Additionally, because Mango includes pre and post-test assessments, it may qualify for Title I and Title III funding.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., May 27, 1010 — Mango Languages today announced the expansion of its national footprint with the addition of the County of Los Angeles and Free Philadelphia — two of the country’s largest public library systems — to its network. Mango also announced the renewal of its annual contract with the New York Public Library system. Together, these contracts result in a total of 8.6 million people served. Mango Languages CEO Jason Teshuba made the announcement.

The County of Los Angeles Public Library was established in 1912 and is one of the largest library systems in the United States serving 3.6 million residents in a service area that extends over 3,000 square miles. Established in 1895, The Free Library of Philadelphia consists of 49 branches and serves a population of 1.5 million residents.

The New York Public Library began its relationship with Mango in 2008 and has since recognized the company as one if its “Best of Reference” library resources, an annual list of books, websites, and electronic resources selected by a committee of librarians for their usefulness in branch reference collections. The New York Public Library serves 3.5 million residents in neighborhoods throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

“From the beginning, our goal has remained the same – to be the leading provider of online language learning products to libraries,” said Teshuba. “The renewal of our New York Public Library contract and the addition of Los Angeles County and Free Philadelphia to our growing list of library partners confirms that we continue to move closer to achieving that goal.”

Newest Mango Product Caters To Beginners Interested In Starting To “Speak the Language”

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., November 30, 2009 — Mango Languages today announced the official launch of its newest product, “Mango Basic”. The first installment of what are planned to be numerous additions to the Mango suite of products, Mango Basic will cater to the individual who seeks an elementary understanding of a new language to engage in simple conversations. The announcement was made by Beverly Cornell, Director of Marketing for Mango.

An abridged version of many of Mango Languages’ existing products, Mango Basic is designed to appeal to a beginner in a new language. This person is someone interested in learning everyday greetings, gratitudes, goodbyes and helpful phrases in a short period of time. Mango Basic will initially be available in 22 foreign languages and 14 English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. The program will be easy to use, requiring only two to five hours of time to complete. Additional languages and features will be introduced over the next several months.

Commenting on the launch of Mango Basic, Mango chief executive officer Jason Teshuba said, “We view the launch of Mango Basic as an important next step in our mission to remain a leader in our industry. There are several online language learning companies but from the beginning we have differentiated ourselves by not trying to be all things to all people. Instead, we remain focused on specific markets and providing products that meet and exceed each of those market’s individual needs.

“Mango Basic does this by catering to the time-crunched individual. This person is not interested in becoming a scholar but rather learning the key components of a new language in order to be polite, understand and use fundamental words and phrases that are essential to engage in basic conversations. Mango Basic allows the learner to accomplish this in a fun, simple and easy to follow interface anywhere, anytime.”

Since its founding in 2007, Mango Languages has grown to become one of the world’s leading providers of online language learning products. That growth will continue in 2010, as the company plans to enrich content within current offerings and introduce several new products, languages and features to the market, each of which will target a specific user profile and meet that user’s needs.
