DETROIT, November 28, 2011 – Detroit-headquartered Inland Waters Pollution Control (IWPC), a leading provider of underground rehabilitation solutions, gave away more than 750 free turkeys on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in honor of Thanksgiving to Detroit residents. James Tighe, president of IWPC, made the announcement.

The successful event, which began at 10:00 a.m., concluded in just 60 minutes when all of the turkeys were given out.  Some attendees were in line at 5:00 a.m. this morning to make sure they were one of the recipients of a turkey.  IWPC, which planned on ending the event at 1:00 p.m. and donating any remaining turkeys at that time to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, was very pleased with the turnout and response from the community.

“We are very fortunate that we had such a great turnout and could help make the holiday better for so many Detroit families,“ said Tighe. “We feel privileged to have the opportunity to give back during Thanksgiving and show our appreciation to the people of Detroit.”

IWPC held the event for the third consecutive year at its headquarters, located at 4086 Michigan Ave. at Clark St. in Detroit. The event was open to Detroit residents 18 years or older. The company donated 750 turkeys, one to each individual able to present a valid form of identification to prove Detroit residency.
