Last week, I had the opportunity to spend two days at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale. One of the world’s most prestigious luxury and classic car auction companies, Barrett-Jackson hosts major flagship events that attract hundreds of thousands of attendees from around the world. Barrett-Jackson events are also broadcasted on SPEED, allowing viewers to watch the rare and exotic vehicles cross the auction block from the comfort of their own couch.
An event—such a simple word. Sometimes, you can even convince yourself of its simplicity. All you have to do is invite some people, cook some stuff and greet them at the door, right?
When you actually get down to it, however, there are always hours of preparation that can have you going in 25 different directions…especially with bizarre client demands. Since event planning can be exhausting in itself, it’s easy to let marketing and PR slip off the to-do radar.
